The Research Ensemble - Monica Brett-Crowther

Award winning Monica trained at the RSAMD, and the University of Toronto before completing her training at Opera National du Rhin's opera studio in Strasbourg . Operatic roles include Cherubino, Idamante, Eva, and Polina and she has sung at the Barbican, Southbank Centre, Royal Albert Hall and the Queen's Hall Edinburgh, among other UK Venues.

Monica performs regularly internationally and has been broadcast several times on the BBC.

She is equally at home in contemporary music and has performed numerous works of this era some of which include Tan Dun's Marco Polo, Philippe Boesmans' Reigen, Berio's Folksongs, and Berio's O King.

Recent performances include Tony Hymas' new cycle-7 Art songs at the Hayward Gallery and Nigel Osborne's new opera Differences in Demolition.

Future engagements include Fabrizio Cassol s  Pitié with Les Ballets C de la B, directed by Alain Platel.
